There is not many found footage movies that I have enjoyed watching, they are usually badly made, bad acting or weak script.
The blair Witch is number one in my opinion of found footage films, it broke ground for the genre, there was no special effects to captivate the audience like most horror movies and relied on acting and sound effects and a very well planned marketing.
With all the big budget movies coming out sometimes it is the less known independent films that make the best viewing and Hell House LLC is one of them films, based in Upstate New York a group of friends open up a Haunted House Attraction for Halloween.
The haunted house is based in old restaurant and hotel and we follow the group as they first arrive and the build up to the opening night but not is what it seems, the house has a history by the locals for being haunted but no evidence, only rumors.
They cut back and forth to interviews of local author and one survivor. I have to admit the local author scenes are out place and I did not see the point of it but it filled in the gaps.
I have never been to Haunted House Attraction so to me this would be a good representation of one, mannequins, props, fake webs and bugs, actors dressed up in costumes ready to scare the living crap out of you.
The attraction would not be complete without clowns and everyone knows clowns are scary I wont go in to details to much or give this away if you haven not watched it.
The film does take elements from other movies which are noticeable but you can forgive them for that, overall the film is not bad, if you want to watch a entertaining horror flick that is not your typical main stream big Hollywood movie I would recommend this one, it keeps you entertained.
I will give a warning though if you intend to watch this movie with lights off and are sensitive to strobe lighting you may want to keep the lights on.
Hell House is available now if you have Amazon Prime you can watch it for free if not check other online streaming sites or search online for a listing or to buy.
