Spanning 160 acres, Oakwood Cemetery is one of the oldest cemeteries in Syracuse, New York. It’s not just a final resting place but also a tranquil area where visitors can walk and admire its monuments, which are scattered across the landscape. Some of the oldest graves date back to the mid-to-late 1800s.Like most cemeteries and graveyards, Oakwood has its fair share of local ghost stories, ranging from orbs of light to shadowy figures.Over the years, Oakwood Cemetery has attracted numerous paranormal investigations. We’ve visited a few times and conducted small investigations, but about a month ago, we decided to return and try some new techniques—and they didn’t disappoint.Using the Estes method worked like a charm this time, allowing us to engage in conversations with spirits from beyond. We also captured EVPs (electronic voice phenomena) and ITC (instrumental transcommunication) spirit box recordings using Vocibus by Ghosthunterapps and the SB7.We also experimented with a new app we hadn’t used in the field before, and we’ll be releasing a short bonus video about that experiment soon.If you haven’t seen the videos we’ve been posting on TikTok and YouTube, don’t worry—we’ve included all seven videos below. The longest video of the series is Part 7. We hope you enjoy these videos and look forward to your feedback.
