I came across this film the other day on Tubi*, Hinsdale House. Here is the synopsis of the film from IMDb.
"Actors and crew arrive at the actual Hinsdale House in upstate New York and prepare to shoot a horror movie over the next few weeks. The owner of the property offers a very real warning of the potential dangers of such a project, but the filmakers are adamant. Before shooting can even start, the cast and crew are subjected to the very real evil that occupies the house and surrounding Wood first hand"
Hinsdale House is a Independent film with lack of direction and weak story which was a shame because I had high hopes.
I wasn't sure what exactly they were trying to do with this, it is based at the Hinsdale House but it seemed to mock the paranormal activity rather than respect whatever maybe there. Throughout the film you have to watch cringe worthy scene of older guy who is directing the movie and one of co-stars and of course you have rival actors, none of the characters were relatable no matter what was tried, rubbish sound effects as well as visuals.
I was not sure what I was expecting with this film and couple of times I almost turned it off but I held out.
I feel with proper structure to the script and a little bit more of a budget they could of pulled off a pretty tidy movie.
The idea of making a horror film where the concept is making a horror film at the house would of been better left at the door, it could of done with more character building making them more believable also would of helped.
I have better idea on how they could of done this movie that would of made a little more sense and I'll keep that idea to my self you never know I may pitch the idea.
Dandy House
The Hinsdale House also known as Dandy House is in Western New York and has build up a bit of following in the recent years with the stories of poltergeist activity that happened to the previous owners the Dandy Family.
Reports of the woods being haunted, woman in white, faces in the windows and ghostly figures. Nick Groff and Katrina Weidman also spent some time there on their show Paranormal Lockdown where they spend 72 hours in the house. Tours, live feeds and private investigations are still being done at the house and all money raised from these events is to help restore the house and other work around the property.
